Which country receives the most missionaries? April 2, 2008 16:37
There are some new pages here at Missionary-Blogs.com that you might want to check out! First, there is now a sitemap. Many of the pages here do not actually appear on the sidebar, so to make the site easier to explore I've added this page which lists (almost) all the pages that are here.
I say almost because, first, all the blog archives by month are not included. Also, pages are being added all the time, and the sitemap is only updated once in a while!
For example, we have a new continent here - missionaries in North America now have their very own page. Recently the Overseas Ministries Study Center reported the countries that receive the largest number of foreign missionaries. Guess who was #1? The United States. That's right, there are now more missionaries to the United States than to any other country in the world.
So the question is, where are all the bloggers? I don't have nearly enough missionaries to the USA and Canada. To qualify, you must come from a very different culture (probably a different language) than the culture you are now living in. Contact me and I'll consider your blog for inclusion!

Short term travels April 18, 2008 10:33
As you may know, we don't generally have short term missionaries (less than 2 years) in the aggregator on the main page. But every once in a while I like to feature a few short term blogs here, and it's been a while! So for your interest, here are some short termers who are either in the middle of another culture or getting ready to dive in!

A trip to India April 25, 2008 13:46
LeakeSpeak is actually a fairly new blog, just started in October of last year. Coming to us from southern Mexico (Oaxaca), the posts have been thoughtful from the start. We've also been treated to some great photos, which enhance any blog.
Ironically enough, what prompted me to finally write about LeakeSpeak here was not Mexico but India. A trip to the other side of the world has led to some very interesting first-impression posts, and some fantastic pictures of places many of us have heard about, but never thought a lot about.
A much-travelled friend of mine once said that the most "different" country in the world (in this case, different from Canada, or even the Western World) was India. I think you'll enjoy this exploration of life, religion and chai in incredible India, where they say Truth Alone Triumphs.
For background on the trip, read I'm going to India. For the first post upon arrival, read Made it to India. Then read later posts for the continuing saga.

Posts from Paraguay April 30, 2008 10:02
We haven't talked a lot about Paraguay here - why is that? Do you know where it is? That's right - smack-dab in the middle of South America. Here are a few recent posts to get you started: Cathedral in Asunción, Paraguay. This is a celebration in honour of the Virgin Mary.
