Kenya: the world is watching

Although I did a post on Kenya in October, I'm heading back. The eyes of the world are on Kenya, and although I don't want this blog to be ruled by the latest news, there comes a time to pay attention!
For those that don't know, there was violence following the recent Kenyan elections. The tensions are still there (the election was in December), and today's BBC report states that violence has returned to some areas after some days of peace.
This isn't a comprehensive list of posts - be sure to check out the following bloggers for previous and later posts. Missionary blog tip: Why Blog?

Dr Mike of Kids' Doc in Jos recently (ok, this past September) created a presentation about blogging for missionaries entitled "Why Blog?". He graciously agreed to share it with us. Unfortunatly, my computer skills are limited and I couldn't figure out how to include it here. But - probably all the better to see it on his site anyway!
If you have a friend who isn't sure whether or not they should start blogging, direct them there.

Congrats to our winner!

Way back in August, after we posted the wonderful tips from many bloggers regarding missionary care packages, I promised that I would pick a contributer at random to receive a care package courtesy of Missionary-Blogs.com. Ok, so I've been a little slow.
But I would finally like to announce the winner! Coming from Canada and serving in Australia, please send your congratulations to Bill Hutchison! Here's his care package post.
Circumstances being what they were, I didn't follow all of the care packages advice, but Lord willing over the next month or two Bill and his family will be receiving some books as a thank you from all of us.
As you can see, Bill is preparing for his Australian Citizenship Test (in just over a week). He also just celebrated his birthday (see what he did), and is struggling with lacking tools he uses for his work.
If you'd like to contribute to this site and surprises like this for the missionary bloggers we talk about, just throw some change into the tip jar!
