Short visit to Mexico April 3, 2007 07:24
It seems like there have been a lot of blogs springing up in Mexico in recent days. It's hard to keep up with.
For example, you may be familiar with .:. The Harer's live journal. Ken Harer sent me Deborah's blog, called "All children, except one, grow up." Don't you love that title? Deborah is short term in Mexico.
Deborah is working with The Williams in Mexico, so there's another blog.
Then I found fbumpkin, the blog of an American-Mexican family in Mexico. Then we've got theag_news ministry along with theag_news. Finally, we have the Mackinnon family. These guys have three blogs going, a his and a hers and a ministry blog.
It's turning out to be very popular - Dennis Poulette's post 101 things about Mexico City. Michelle used the idea in her post 55 things of Ensenada.
Interesting point of comparison - on the 30th of March the Slaubaughs in Madagascar posted a similar list. Those of us from the "Western world" may find a lot of similarities as we travel the rest of the world.
Any other lists out there about Mexico or beyond?

Medical ministry April 16, 2007 09:30
There are many Christians out there who are helping with physical healing in another culture. What a great way to show the compassion of Jesus! Some of these people have medical training, some don't.
But today I wanted to highlight doctors and nurses who are serving full time in another culture. I probably missed some obvious ones - I've never taken the time to catalogue which people are in which types of ministry. So if you can think of more, please leave a comment!
Photo courtesy of Kyle and Kelly Adams No list would be complete without Kids’ Doc in Jos, the blog of pediatrician Dr. Mike Blyth in Nigeria. Dr Blyth is one of our veteran bloggers. He's just finishing his service in Kenya, and returning to his native land (the USA) to serve the Lord there. Thanks for showing us what God is doing in Kenya, Mission Safari!Heading to Sudan to work with children is a nurse at Under the African Rain.New as of this February - visit Musings of a Medical Missionary, serving in Ukraine. Finally, we end up back in Mexico with The Miller Family in Mexico City.
The Miller's ministry says it all - While tending to people's physical and spiritual needs, the Millers desire to demonstate what a difference Jesus makes in every area of our lives.
May we all have a part in that mission!
