Poverty and dust storms August 1, 2006 17:30
Photo courtesy of cote Poverty is something that's been on my mind a lot lately. Of course, in some ways it seems like it's been on everybody's minds - in the news, and so on. But if it's so much on our minds, are we really doing anything about it?
I appreciated this heart-felt post from Hannatu's Happenings about Niger. The post talks about lack of rain and has some incredible photos of dust storms. I lived on the prairies and so I've seen dust storms, but nothing like this. Check it out at Rain for Niger.

More critters August 7, 2006 18:26
Depending on where you are in the world, this will either be old hat or really cool. Or maybe a little scary.
First, on the cute side is Alex's new pet. This is from the Kautz Kids blog. Just where are this kid's parents?! Oh, there they are.
And now, if you like big bugs you might consider this cute too. Check out this video from disciplemexico.org: Now that is a bug!
Any other missionaries out there with great animal pictures or videos or stories?

On the road again...and again... August 9, 2006 19:58
Travelling, travelling, travelling. Or traveling. However you choose to spell it, there sure are a lot of missionaries doing it. It's tiring me out just reading about it (or maybe it's because I'm in the middle of packing myself). Worse still, it often means that missionaries don't have internet access, so they're not even blogging. If they are, they're exhausted.
Anyway, here are a few (only a very few - I had to stop myself) recent posts from travellers, to give you a taste. Remember to pray for those who are living out of suitcases...

Missionaries in Australia August 16, 2006 08:53
The Arts Centre, Melbourne Australia | Millions of readers want to know - do we have missionaries in Australia? Of course we do! Started waaay back in June of 2004 was Bill Hutchison's YWAM Journal. Bill is married (to a wife, according to his brief bio) and has a three year old son and a four month old daughter. One thing that Bill is involved in is "Communications and Information Technology", which might interest some of you who are wanting to improve your communication through technology. Bill is a Canadian from Calgary, Alberta.
Also, be sure to visit Peregrine Sojo - Kitty's Kronicle. Kitty is in Melbourne, Australia. She's involved in creative arts and missions mobilization, among other things. Her blog is always thought provoking. Kitty is from Hong Kong.
From everywhere, to everywhere - this is the face of missions today. And yet there are still those all over the world who have no idea who Jesus really is. Will you be a part of getting the Truth to the world?
