Blog in Pieces
April 6, 2006 09:56

One of our long-time missionary blogs exploded.  Or perhaps it was dropped.  But whatever happened, it ended up in four pieces.

The blog I'm talking about is the one that used to be at friderich.net.  That link now takes you to four blogs - all by four different family members (Scott, Dena, Elena and Elise).  It's neat to see various missionary families experimenting with ways to get the whole family involved.

Recently, Scott wrote about being in front of the firing squad (ok, not really) and Dena wrote about Elena's new addition to the Bible (and deletion from her nose!).  There's a story of a dragon from Elena, and you can see a video blog from Elise!  Audio or video blogging is a great way to get children involved, by the way.

Voice of the Vets

Old man in Mexico
Today I thought I'd go and see what some of our veteran bloggers are up to.  Ok, they're not old people, but in blogging years these blogs are the equivelant of at least 2000 years old!  Wow.

First, I'd like to congratulate Stephen Davies on the publication of his children's book, Sophie and the Albino Camel!  Way to go!  Click the link for more information.

Over at Quirey Life, they're celebrating their first public worship service - a dream realized.

Recently at Mission Safari a two-part update was posted that shows God's faithfulness in our weakness.  Read part one here and part two here.  I also enjoyed Saturday's post entitled Do You Still Love Me, Daddy?

Let us not forget Comings Communiqué.  There's a post with Student Prayer Requests - just some quick, simple ways you can pray for students in Brazil if you have 3 minutes or more right now.  Also, in the news, The (Brazilian) Orkut Phenomenon.

Finally, from Kevin's Web Log, an explanation about Household Help In Bangladesh.

You want to read more?  Of course you do.  Click on a few missionary blogger links and see what they have to say.

Babies

Baby
What can I say?  If there's anything blogs are made for, it's for introducing the little ones to the world.  No, it's not the babies who are blogging, but the parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents... Anyway, here are a few recent posts:

  • Of course, first we have to welcome Gwendolyn into the world.  She was born only two days ago!  Check out these recent pictures.
  • Also new to the world is Canaan, born in March - check out Cute Faces (all his) and Psalm 139.
  • Read the latest about Eli and his big brother Joel in Family Weekend.
  • On a different note, check out these posts about a Ukrainian baby hospital:  Baby Hospital and More baby hospital.
  • Some are waiting for babies to arrive.  What's it like to go from two to three?  Speculations at JustusBlog.  There are struggles with pregnancy posted in Bad Dreams and Pregnancy and Burritos.. OH MY!.  You can imagine what will be said The 2nd Time Around.  Someone else is waiting for baby #3.  And ye aulde ultrasound photo.
